Paul Murphy has served as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors since July 2017. Mr. Murphy previously served as Chief Executive Officer and Director of Del Taco Restaurants, Inc., having held the positions since February of 2009. Previously, he held various roles with Einstein Noah Restaurant Group from 1996 to 2008, including President and Chief Executive Officer from 2003 until 2009. Mr. Murphy brings significant experience in both operational and executive leadership from his many years spent in the industry.
Dave Boennighausen became our Chief Executive Officer in June 2017, having served as interim Chief Executive Officer since July 2016. Mr. Boennighausen served as Chief Financial Officer from July 2012 until June 2017 and became a member of board of directors in August 2015. Mr. Boennighausen has been with the Company since 2004, and served as our Vice President of Finance from October 2007 to March 2011, and as our Executive Vice President of Finance from April 2011 to February 2012. He began his career with May Department Stores. He received a BS in Finance and Marketing from Truman State University and holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Sue Daggett became Interim Chief Financial Officer of the Company in June 2017. Ms. Daggett has served as Vice President, Finance since joining the Company in August 2016. Ms. Daggett previously served as President of Smiling Moose Deli. Prior to that time, she held various executive positions at Einstein/Noah Restaurant Group. Inc. as well as financial roles at Arby’s Inc. and Burger King Corporation. Sue began her career with Ernst & Young. She received a BS in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Accounting, from the University of Northern Iowa.
Brad West has served as our Executive Vice President, Operations since September 2017. Mr. West has over 40 years of operations experience in the restaurant industry, most recently serving as Vice President, Operations of Smoothie King Franchisees, Inc. Previously, he was Chief Operating Officer of ACG Pizza Partners LLC. Prior to ACG Pizza Partners LLC, he spent 16 years at Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, Inc., most recently as Senior Vice President, Non-Traditional Business where he was responsible for the operations, development and growth of over 250 Einstein Bros. Bagels license locations. Mr. West has also held key operational roles at CEC Entertainment, Inc., Applebee's International Franchisees, and S&A Restaurant Corporation.
Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Paul Strasen has served as our Executive Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel since January 2008. Prior to joining our company, Mr. Strasen was the Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Houlihan's Restaurants, Inc. and served as the General Counsel of Einstein/Noah Bagel Corp. He began his career at Bell Boyd & Lloyd, now part of K & L Gates. Mr. Strasen received a BA in Humanities and Political Science from Valparaiso University and received a JD from The University of Chicago Law School.
